Inspiring cooperation with Woodlike Ocean

18 December 2017

Healthy Seas is proud to cooperate with Woodlike Ocean and receive 1% donation after every purchased product from their beautiful sustainable collection.

Mauricio Palma, Brand Director & Co-Founder shared some inspiring insights with us:

“At Woodlike Ocean, we exclusively use ECONYL®️ yarn in our swimwear fabrics, which includes also the fishing nets recovered by the Healthy Seas initiative.

For us, it was not just a logical conclusion to partner up with Healthy Seas to close the sustainable production loop. It was a very personal conviction to support their activities too. It’s something we believe it’s necessary to be done. To give back to the ocean and coastlines that has given us so much.

Sonja and I are the founders and team behind the label, we have spent most of our lives living at the beach. Unfortunately, we have witnessed with our own eyes how our oceans and beaches dramatically changed in the last couple of decades. To realise there is no such thing as pristine beaches and coastlines it’s is a very sad acknowledgment.

Our goal is to give our customers the opportunity to help create healthy oceans with their purchase decisions. And not just by using this amazing regenerative fabric, but by actively supporting the super important activities of Healthy Seas. We are committed as a partner to donate 1% of every sale to the Healthy Seas initiative.

It’s important that we all consider taking action on how to protect our oceans and preserve its ecosystem. The biggest problems out there are plastic consumption and ocean pollution. Plastic is killing so many species, but not only underwater, also all living creatures around the ocean being poisoned from plastic. If there is one thing I would like to give you, it is to take action, be aware of plastic consumption and support organisations like Healthy Seas doing an important work for the protection of our oceans.”
