Karün is a Chilean B Corp based in Patagonia that aims to inspire the world into reflecting about the question: what would the world look like if we understood that we are all nature? The brand creates high-quality eyewear in a very different way; using reclaimed, natural and/or noble materials and working alongside local communities in Patagonia as a way of empowering them to protect their wild territories. Different types of waste like metals, fishing nets and ropes from the ocean are collected by local rural entrepreneurs, then recycled through our partners regeneration system technology and turned into long-lasting sunglasses, ensuring the highest standards in quality and performance.
Every Karün customer is contributing in the protection of 400.000 hectares of pure nature in Cochamó (Northern Patagonia) through a 4-year programme with more than 600 rural entrepreneurs and their families, developed with our friends from Balloon Latam. This process aims to enhance social-territorial development and to strengthen the relationship of the community, so they become leaders in the protection of their culture, identity and natural landscapes, for future generations.
