‘Healthy Seas, a Journey from Waste to Wear’ initiativewas established with the aim to remove waste, in particular fishing nets, from the seas for the purpose of creating healthier seas and recycling marine litter into textile products. The recovered fishing nets are transformed and regenerated together with other Nylon waste by Aquafil into ECONYL® yarn, a high-quality raw material used to create beautiful new products, such as the ones made by SUMMERLOVE SWIMWEAR.

SUMMERLOVE SWIMWEAR is an eco-conscious brand committed to helping the environment.

Vanessa Rivers, Founder/Designer shared her thoughts with us:

“As a surfer I have always had a deep love and appreciation for the sea. When I set out on my mission to ‘help make the world a greener place one eco bikini at a time’ I knew I wanted my swimwear to be made in the USA with recycled fabric. When I found out about a revolutionary recycled fibre called ECONYL that was being created from discarded materials such as old fishing nets rescued from the ocean by Healthy Seas, I jumped at the chance to use this to create my eco swimwear line – SUMMERLOVE SWIMWEAR. Joining Healthy Seas soon after was a natural progression. Once I learned about the amazing work they are doing to help clean up our oceans and protect marine life, I wanted to support them on their incredible mission.”

SUMMERLOVE SWIMWEAR joined forces with Healthy Seas many years ago to fight against deadly ghost nets and donates to Healthy Seas 1% after every purchase.
