In October 2018, during our mission in the Aeolian Islands, we were joined by Venetia Falconer, a London based producer and presenter. Venetia followed our mission in order to share it with her thousands of followers, which she did with utmost success.

Venetia, who is also an ambassador for eco fashion, had on a swimsuit made of ECONYL® yarn, which very possibly received more attention that the 4 tons of ghost nets recovered that day! The swimsuit was from a brand called OHOY Swim, who are very excited to now welcome on board Healthy Seas, as a partner!

With a focus on Scandinavian simplicity & a responsibility to look after the environment, all OHOY swim products are produced from plastic and fishing nets collected also from the ocean and recycled into ECONYL® yarn. The brand doesn’t believe in swimwear seasons but in adventures around the year.

Tested in real-life conditions, their swimwear is twice as resistant to chlorine, sun creams and oils than most other fabrics. And best of all, they are made to stay put and beautiful, no matter what.

Henna and Anna, who created OHOY for everyday girls like them, told us:

Why did you join Healthy Seas?

We want to give back to the community who makes our business possible.

Why marine protection is important to you?

We surf and spend a lot of time by the sea. We have seen the poor state of the oceans are in and we want to do everything we can to help clean up this mess. Let’s tidy up our oceans one swimsuit at a time.
