World Biodiversity Day Celebrated with 900 Students in Croatia
Teaching the younger generation about the dangers faced by marine life, especially plastic pollution, is one of our main pillars.
Biodiversity is the heartbeat, the life, of Planet Earth
We depend on it for food, water, energy and medicine. Unfortunately, we have lost half the world’s corals and an estimated one million species are now threatened with extinction – more than ever before in human history!
On May 22nd, our education coordinator in Croatia, Velimir Vrzić, visited the “Sveti Matej” elementary school in Viskovo, where over 900 students and 80 teachers welcomed and took part in the interactive presentation about Healthy Seas and marine pollution.
“As a diver, I have seen first hand the devastation caused by lost fishing gear and other types of marine pollution to the marine ecosystem. Transferring this knowledge to the younger generation makes me feel optimistic that they will take action to protect it”
says Velimir Vrzić.
