Let’s Dive In: Healthy Seas in Lake Starnberg with Hyundai

Ever heard of a beach cleanup using robots? Yep, you read it right! Hyundai, alongside the Technical University of Munich (TUM), is taking a bold step towards cleaner oceans with their Svan Project. And guess what? We, Healthy Seas, got a front-row seat to this awesome tech unveiling in the Munich area!

Healthy Seas – The Ocean Cleanup Squad

Before we dive into the tech talk, let’s chat about us, Healthy Seas. We’re all about fighting marine litter and ghost nets – those pesky, discarded fishing nets haunting our oceans. We’ve been teaming up with volunteers, our ocean heroes, who dive down and recover this underwater trash. We’re like the Avengers of the ocean, but without the capes!

Robots Meet Ocean Cleanup – The Svan Project Unveiled

So, here’s the scoop. Hyundai and TUM introduced the Svan Project, a trio of high-tech guardian robots – a drone, a mini-vehicle, and an underwater buddy – working together to tackle pollution. Think of them as our tech-savvy cousins in the battle for cleaner oceans.

Picture this: drones soaring above, mini-vehicles zipping around, and underwater bots diving deep. Their mission? Sniff out and dispose of toxic waste and pollutants. Imagine having a squad of little helpers fighting the good fight, but for the ocean!

You can dive into more details here.

Our Continued Collaboration: Diving for a Cleaner Sea

Why were we at the Svan Project event? Well, we’re the go-to peeps when it comes to marine litter recovery. Hyundai and TUM invited us as the experts, showcasing how our volunteer divers have been on the frontlines, doing the heavy lifting – or should we say diving – to clean up our beloved seas. This collaboration isn’t new; we’ve been partnering with Hyundai for a while now, engaging in diving missions to retrieve ghost nets and educating schools to spread awareness about marine litter.

Our very own Pascal Van Erp, the diving maestro, was at the event, buzzing with excitement about the potential these robots hold. He’s already thinking about how we can merge this cool tech with our dive operations in the future.

A Hopeful Future: Exploring Opportunities with Svan Project

We’re thrilled at the prospects the Svan Project brings to ocean conservation. By exploring new technologies like these robots, we envision a future where both volunteers and innovative tech play their part in keeping our oceans pristine. With every cleanup – whether by a volunteer diver or a trusty robot – we could be one step closer to a sparkling, trash-free sea!
