Growing attention for marine protection at the Boot Düsseldorf 2018

29 January 2018

This year the world’s greatest boat & water sports show took place between 20-28 January. Boot Düsseldorf set records this year: 1,923 exhibitors from 68 different countries presented yachts, boats and accessories for all water sports activities on 220,000 square metres of stand space. Messe Düsseldorf CEO Werner M. Dornscheidt: “These figures are unique in the industry. No other water sports trade fair reflects the entire world market in all its diversity as completely as boot.”

The event also brought us a lot of surprises…!

The stand of our partner Bracenet was very popular, just like their speeches on stage about marine protection and our cooperation. Bracenet develops fashion bracelets from ghost nets and joined forces with Healthy Seas and its partners Nofir and Ghost Fishing to work together for cleaner and healthier seas.

The enthusiastic colleagues from Bracenet were tirelessly answering all questions from the public and partnership requests what they got during the 8 days of the Fair and Exhibition.

Like every year, on the boot show in Düsseldorf the most important award in diving from the magazine TAUCHEN was handed out and this time the 20th anniversary was also celebrated.

We are delighted and very grateful that the volunteer divers from our partner Ghost Fishing got a 3.500 euro donation this year during the TAUCHEN Award 2018 ceremony in Düsseldorf to recognize and further support the important work they are doing about the protection of our seas and oceans, specifically focusing on the collection of ghost nets and lost fishing gear.

The 50th boot Düsseldorf will take place in January 2019. See you there!
