In the weekend of September 10 and 11 two Healthy Seas diving partners set sail to the North Sea from two different countries. With 22 divers in total they removed hundreds of kilos lost fishing gear from several shipwrecks in The Netherlands and Belgium.

September 10, the Ghost Fishing diving team headed to the “Rode Poon” shipwreck to continue their mission. In spite of the early start at 03:00 in the morning our divers were running at full speed. Shortly after sunrise during their first dive they already managed to remove approx. 300KG of lost fishing gear! With a second dive they closed the diving day with great results but there is still a lot of work to do down there. Check their video report:

September 11, the EcoDuikers diving team headed to the “SS Trifels” shipwreck for lost fishing gear removal. Their boat was accompanied by a second boat carrying associate partner Modulyss and founding partners ECNC Group and Aquafil Group. Secretary of State Philippe De Backer visited the diving team afterwards and national broadcaster Focus WTV was there to document this successful day.

On behalf of Healthy Seas and their partners we thank all divers for their tremendous efforts! Next weekend more dives, to be continued…
